Gypsophila Paniculata or Babies Breath, is one of the most popular flowers we sell.

If you are looking to order Gypsophila for your weddings, here are the essential things you need to know:

Gypsophila Season

• November  - Available in limited quantities from late November onwards
• December - February - Available, but supply is dependent on pre booking
• March - May - Available in limited quantities from March to mid May
• June - October - NOT AVAILABLE

Booking is Essential!

Gypsophila is one of the most popular flowers we sell, and demand is huge. If you are ordering it the week before you need it, chances are you are going to miss out! 

A good rule of thumb for ordering Gypsophila (or really ANY in demand product) is:

• Peak Season - November through April: 6-8 weeks in advance
• Low Season - May through October: 4-6 weeks in advance

*Late Jan to late February is particularly busy for weddings, even ordering 6 weeks out, doesn't guarantee supply.

Gypsophila is not cheap!

There is a common understanding that Gypsophila is a widely available, bulk product that is inexpensive to buy - this is not the case!

While this may be true overseas, in New Zealand, Gypsophila is only grown by a handful of growers as a niche line. A lot of what is grown is exported overseas too, so there is never enough of it to go around. As a consequence, depending on demand, prices may fluctuate from $25-35 + GST per bunch, up to over $60 + GST per bunch at the markets. It is not always possible to supply large quantities of gypsophila and it is always a struggle to get more than 10 bunches at any one time. Please consider carefully before committing to an all gypsophila wedding and please remember to manage your customer's expectations.
